At meetings held on September 16th targeted to the residents living within a 200-foot radius of the subject property, we had conversations with our neighbors that were both informative and constructive. We are seeking more feedback and look forward to hearing from more of the community. For this reason, we will be hosting another meeting on Wednesday, October 14th, 2020 at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 78 Hempstead Avenue in Lynbrook. In order to provide for appropriate social-distancing, we will hold two sessions: The first from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the second from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
We look forward to meeting with the community and sharing our vision for the site with them. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
L.I. Building Corp. is proposing the redevelopment of the 161 Union Avenue premises. Our intention is to remove the restaurant building and its related structures from the property situated at the corner of Scranton Avenue and Union Avenue and totally upgrade the property with a new two-story 18-unit condominium having 16 two-bedroom and 2 one-bedroom units. The project will, in our opinion, represent a significant aesthetic upgrade of the property and will introduce an attractive and much needed use to the community. These will be for-sale units, not rentals.
